A MESSAGE FROM JOANNE BARTONE | FOUNDER + CREATOR OF ZEN PHOTOGRAPHY SAFARIS | WORKSHOPS | RETREATS:
I have always had a desire to create a community of like-minded photographers who felt that ethics, honesty and imparting information to others for the greater good of the industry was paramount. In my vision, I wanted this community to be filled with encouragement; one where people who came to learn would feel uplifted and accepted by all, freeing them to reach their professional potential and personal aspirations.
The Zen Community is one of open sharing straight from the heart; the kind where people ask questions and receive full answers from authentic professionals who can exhaust their questions. A community where self-acceptance and self-worth lead everyone’s heart towards the betterment of one another, photographer and subject alike. We are all rock stars, not just one of us. I dared to dream of this place for all, and happily found many who could easily relate to my vision.
From these desires Zen Photography Safaris | Workshops | Retreats was born.
We want to help you succeed, no matter what your skill level may be.
Team Zen also knows first-hand the challenges of owning and operating a photography business. We recognize that there is a multitude of confusing resources and a lack of authentic personal and professional support. There is a tremendous need to offer proven professional resources that prepares photographers early on in establishing productive habits to feed their personal health and well-being, as well as their professional desires.
Lastly, when Zen Photography was conceptualized, I felt it was important to recognize the multitude of talented local and national photographers for whom I have a deep respect. I thought ‘wouldn’t it be great if we could connect people who wanted to learn photography with photographers who were experienced and had talent and passion for sharing that experience.’ As we connect those who need info with those who have it, it is a win-win experience for both the Zen Photo Community and the Team Zen members.
I hope you’ll consider becoming part of Zen Photography Safaris | Workshops | Retreats, as someone who wants to learn or someone who wants to instruct.
Namaste, Joanne
